Mike proposed on October 28, 2008. We were at a casual dinner at PF Changs in Anaheim. At the end of dinner the waitress dropped off 2 fortune cookies. I almost didn't open my fortune cookie because I was so full from dinner. Mike convinced me to open it and my fortune said "Will you marry me?" I was in shock and next thing I knew I had a ring on my finger and the managers from PF Changs were taking pictures of us. :) Mike got me pretty good. I didn't have a clue.

As for a little background on the engagment. I would also like to thank everyone that helped in the planning this monumental task of keeping "the little secret" from Jackie. It took many hours of thinking about how I was going to propose to her, so that she would not find out! If your curious as to how I pulled it off.......here's how. I had originally ordered a fortune cookie that said "Will you marry me?" However, due to complications it did not arrive. So, I went to Smart & Final and bough a huge thing of fortune cookies and decided to make them myself. So my boss's and I came up with what the 'ribbon" in the cookie would look like. On the front it said the traditional "Will U Marry Me?" On the back it said "Lucky Numbers: 10,28,08 (The date of course) So, from there I decided to carefully take out the original ribbons from two cookies, which were previously selected out of the huge thing. Then I placed the marry me ribbons in the two cookies. Why two you asked, well they were originally going to only bring us 1 cookie, but I wanted to give no hints or anything, so i told them to bring out two. So i made two (I didn't know which one she would pick) and the fuse was lit. Next, I got off work two hours early, and had my boss's cover for me telling jackie when she called me that I was still at work. As the timer began ticking down to game time. I decided to go straight from work to P.F. Changs. There I talked to pretty much the entire staff of the resturant and told them what was going on. We went over how the night was going to go and so on, basically a rehersal....proposal. I had brought the cookies with me and one of the managers said that they had a machine which would actually rewrap the celophane plastic around the cookies giving the idea that they had not been opened in the first place. At this point I knew there was no way she would find out until it was game time. Again I would like to thank everyone who knew about the plan or helped me in keeping it a secret and even to those who knew and could not tell her for fear of stiff prosecution! Believe it or not there were about 40 people who added and helped me in keeping this task a secret. Once again thank you to all of you!
